Ukraine, in threatening music video, warns of ‘unpleasant summer break’ if Russia doesn’t leave Crimea

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry posted a threatening message in the form of an unusual music video on Thursday morning, in which it warned Russia to get out of Crimea or pay the price.

Set to the 1983 Bananarama hit “Cruel Summer,” the video says that the Russians had to visit somewhere else for their summer vacation, and they’d better leave soon.

“This summer you have a few options,” the video begins, referring to Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah beaches, Antalya, Turkey or resorts in Cuba. “You chose Crimea,” it continues. “Big mistake.”

The video shows scenes of bombs being dropped as people flee the beach.

“Time to go home,” the message says, while “Brutal Summer” plays in the background.

The video closes with the words “Crimea Ukraine”.

The musical threat carries the message that Russia should withdraw from Crimea.[u]If they don’t want an unpleasant summer break, “no amount of sunscreen will protect them from the dangerous effects of smoking in unauthorized areas.”

The video post comes after a top Ukrainian official said he wanted to use “maximum measures to end the active part of the war” before winter, as Russia continues to attack their infrastructure.
