A Canadian rock guitarist was found dead inside his home on Monday and police suspect the man’s son was responsible for the killing.

A 65-year-old man, Gord Lewis, was the guitarist for the band Teenage Head for decades. Police arrested his son Jonathan Lewis and charged him with 2nd degree murder.

Police say Lewis’ body showed injuries “consistent with foul play.”

“We continue to seek witnesses and review video in the area,” Detective Sarah Beck told reporters.

Police only discovered Louis’s body after his son sent a series of emails to the media. Each email referred to Louise’s death and requested medical assistance.

“The funeral people need to get here quickly. My father is starting to decompose,” Jonathan wrote to The Hamilton Spectator, a local news outlet in Ontario.

“Now I want to get help for my illness and give my father a proper burial. He didn’t deserve this,” she wrote in another email.

Lewis’ fellow bandmates confirmed his death on social media.

“We are heartbroken and still trying to process the loss of our friend, bandmate and brother, Gord Lewis,” he wrote. “Our hearts go out to his family and all who knew and loved him. Gard was a strength and inspiration to many. You were taken from us too soon.”

Police have not released details about Lewis’ direct cause of death or when the alleged killing took place. When authorities discovered the body this weekend, it was already significantly decomposed.

Lewis co-founded the band Teenage Head, which has been producing music since 1975.
