Boston Red Sox outfielder Jaren Duran had a rough seventh inning in the team’s 13-5 loss against the Kansas City Royals on Sunday.
Duran missed a fly ball in the sun and dropped the ball into the gap. To make matters worse, he was hearing it from fans and was seen bantering back and forth with the Royals faithful at Kauffman Stadium. He said fans were throwing bottles at him. Duran was yelling in the stands and at one point stepped toward the fence.
“They were throwing little bottle caps at me and stuff,” he said after the game, via NESN. “So I told them to stop throwing it, and one of the ushers came and told them to stop. It’s just little bottle caps, nothing important.”
