Actor Vijay Varma is currently enjoying success as he has been showered with accolades since his latest film Darlings Unveiled on Netflix.
The actor plays the role of Hamza, who plays an alcoholic and abusive spouse. Due to his excellent performance he is getting tons of appreciation from the audience despite playing a bad guy. The actor opened up about his parents’ reaction to the film when he took on the dark role.
Vijay said, “After the release of Darlings, I have been getting all kinds of responses; some are saying we hate Hamza, some are praising my acting skills… but the funny thing is my mother. She watched the film and called me out of fear. . She was worried that no one would marry her son now. (Laughs) I know where she’s coming from but her reaction made me laugh so hard. I had to calm her down and reassure her that it wasn’t going to happen. . . Secretly, I don’t think it’s going to happen.”
A few days ago, Vijay met his co-stars Alia Bhatt, Shefali Shah, Roshan Mathew and director Jasmeet K. BTS shared pictures with Reen on their Instagram handle and took a stroll down memory lane.
Along with the pictures, he wrote a sweet note to all of them for making them learn the important aspects of acting.
“Darlings is made with a lot of love and effort from some incredible creative minds and stalwarts. I’m surrounded by people I learn from and aspire to. The best team one could ask for. Here’s the proof,” he wrote.
Vijay shared a picture with the film’s co-producer Shah Rukh Khan.
Directed by debutant Jasmeet K Reen, Darlings It is a dark comedy centered around Alia and Vijay’s marriage. The story is a powerful take on domestic violence and revolves around Alia Bhatt’s revenge after facing abuse at the hands of her husband Hamza (Vijay).
