Tributes to Olivia Newton-John, Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor and more stars

Singer and actor Olivia Newton-John, best known for her performances in musicals Greece, died Monday at age 73. Bollywood and Hollywood stars paid tribute to the departed actress. “Rest in peace Olivia Newton-John. May your legacy shine,” Priyanka Chopra wrote on her Instagram story. Kareena Kapoor, Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta posting a still Greece, wrote: “Goodbye ONJ. Thanks for the songs.” Oprah Winfrey, singers Mariah Carey, Kylie Minogue also remembered the late actress-singer. Nicole Kidman, Hugh Jackman also paid tribute to Olivia Newton-John on social media.

Oprah tweeted this as she posted a memory with the late actress.

Singer Kylie Minogue shared a precious throwback pic and wrote: “Since I was ten years old, I’ve loved and watched Olivia Newton-John. And, I always will. (Just like this picture). She was and always will be. An inspiration to me in many, many ways. . My deepest condolences to her family and loved ones. x ONJ4EVER.”

Posting a throwback with the late actress, Hugh Jackman wrote: “I am devastated to hear that Olivia has passed away. One of the greatest privileges of my life was knowing her. Not only was she extremely talented. The people I knew … she was the most open-hearted, generous and funny. She was kind. Spirited. It’s no secret Olivia was my first crush. I kissed her (poster) every night before I went to sleep. Her legacy will only grow stronger in the years to come. A fighter for cancer that knows no bounds. I love you Olivia.”

Nicole Kidman, remembering the actress, wrote: “Livvi brought the most divine light to the world … so much love, joy, inspiration and kindness … and we will always be devoted to you desperately.”

Mariah Carey remembered Olivia:

Veteran singer Barbra Streisand wrote in her eulogy for Olivia Newton-John: “Too young to leave this world. May she RIP.”

Olivia Newton-John’s husband John Easterling shared a statement: “Dame Olivia Newton-John (73) passed away peacefully this morning at her ranch in Southern California surrounded by family and friends. We ask that everyone please respect the family’s privacy. Olivia shared her journey with breast cancer for over 30 years. A symbol of victories and pioneering experience with plant medicine continues with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund dedicated to plant medicine research. Cancer.”

Olivia Newton-John announced in May 2017 that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. She is survived by her husband, John Easterling; Daughter Chloe Lattanji.
